SOCIAL SECURITY

I Feel that the cap on S.S. should be lifted and there should be no cap at all. Pay on your grouse earnings. If you earn 30,000 you pay on 30,000 and if you earn 100,000 pay on 100,000 and on up the ladder. There are millions that earn over the 100,000 dollar cap. So we all pay our share and that way the younger folks would be able to get S.S. when they reach the age that they can collect this benefit.

This benefit should go only to the people whom are intitled to it, for years of hard work in this U.S.A.. You pay in, you collect, you don't pay in, you don't collect, fireman, railroad employees spouse ect. are exempt.

Social Security Benefits

I'm not counting on it. I'm relatively young (mid 30s), and there is no way it will be available for me in the long run - very unfortunate.

I'd love to say that since I've paid into the government since my teens, will continue to pay until retirement, this benefit is a given. Unfortunately, that is not the whole story. The money will just not be there in the long run. very sad

Social Security

I agree with others, it is earned, therefore should only go to those who have paid in and nothing should go towards US General Fund or illegal aliens.

I feel one way to secure it for future generations is to gradually raise the limits on earnings before deductions stop. Perhaps only 1-2% a year would extend it life for many add'l years.

Social Security is Ponzi

Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, something providing a return to early investors in order to entice new investors. In reality the return paid out to early investors is paid for by incoming new investors. Ponzi schemes fail. It converted to Ponzi the day the Social Security Trust Fund went away.

I have now worked for 49 years "planning" to use social security for my retirement, yes I'm counting on it. As someone else commented, it's not a gift we've earned it.

Social Security

Social Security is a benefit that is earned. It is not a gift from the government. Seniors should expect and demand to be paid what they have been promised.
