All Hands on Deck- Are you ready to take time to reach out and give someone else a “hand up?” It can be easier than you think. Find out how from these members, financial representatives and employees.

Ask a dozen people why they volunteer and you’ll get a dozen different reasons. But answers you don’t often hear may include: “To help people realize their dreams,” “To close the gap,” or “To provide an opportunity.”
Yet, on the following pages, you’ll read about Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members, financial representatives and employees who are doing just that. By providing a hand up, not a hand out, they’re making dreams more attainable for others in their churches and in their communities.
These volunteers, honored as this year’s Thrivent Financial Volunteer Excellence Award winners, represent hundreds of thousands of our members across the country who live their values daily—members who find the energy, make the time and push past obstacles to deliver that hand up. Read on as they share their thoughts about how anyone can help.
Standing Ovation
Each year, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans—through its Volunteer Excellence Award (VEA) program—recognizes volunteers who demonstrate outstanding volunteer service that makes a significant impact in their congregations and communities.
The recipients include members/couples in various categories, financial representatives and corporate employees. They represent the “best of the best” and reflect the mission, vision and values of Thrivent Financial.
Each honored volunteer receives a grant to contribute to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
